Lesley and Rick Haley are a happy couple. Together they have two children, Jillian and Craig. They live in a house, in a friendly town, and their children are growing up. Feeling as though her heart can open more now that her children are practically grown, Lesley convinces Rick to open their home to a child in need... to a foster child. Little does she know how much her heart will actually open, and to what horrors and fears will begin to weedle it's way in to her life. Once a happy home, the fascade beings to crumble. Can she handle it? This is a story in Lesley's point of view, as she explains the ups and downs of taking in a child from a dysfunctional background and the trials it takes to help that child overcome their past. But what she also begins to learn is how to cope with the trials that may not have been so transparent in her own life... things that make her question everything.
